Hi Chillers,
Today, a simple, effective, and insightful little recipe for making the best cake ever. Yep, I’m feeling pretty smug, thanks.
Whether it’s for an afternoon snack on a Wednesday, a Sunday, or for breakfast after a good lie-in, this cake will delight young and old alike with its moist texture and irresistibly delicious chocolate streaks.
No need for long speeches about something wonderful, here’s the recipe.

Coco-choco marble cake, Chill style.
3 eggs
1/2 cup of sugar
1 pinch of salt
1/2 tsp vanilla powder or liquid vanilla extract
1/2 cup of desiccated coconut
1/3 cup of liquid cream
1 cup of flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup of melted and almost cold butter + extra for greasing your cake tin
1/4 of dark chocolate chips, melted and lukewarm
Recipe
Mix the sugar with the eggs until the mixture is pale and creamy. Add the salt, vanilla, shredded coconut, baking powder, and flour, mixing well after each addition. Add the crème fraîche, then the butter, stiring thoroughly.
Butter a cake pan and pour the batter into it. Drizzle the melted chocolate evenly down the center of the cake. Then, using a knife, swirl the chocolate through the batter to create a marbled effect. Bake at 165°C (325°F) for 25 minutes, checking for doneness after 20 minutes. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean.
Unmold while still warm, being careful not to burn yourself.
And here’s the recipe for this lovely coco-choco marble cake that will drive you coconut! The more adventurous among us can make a glaze with any leftover chocolate and cream: melt the chocolate and let it warm to 30-35°C (86-95°F), then do the same with the cream. Once that’s done, pour it over the cake and refrigerate for 20 minutes—but I didn’t tell you that, of course.
This cake is perfect with a good black tea or a nice cup of coffee, for those who enjoy it. I’m not much of a coffee expert, but for tea, I recommend Namaskar from Mariage Frères, with its sensual vanilla notes.
All that’s left for me to do is wish you a wonderful tasting experience, a great weekend, and I’ll see you next Thursday for more adventures on this blog.
