Hello, young Padawan
Back to school is here, so maintaining your peace and harmony is essential. So, for this last infused water of the year, we’re going to opt for a drink that will relax you, while also being absolutely delicious.
I used dried strawberries to enhance the flavor of the strawberries, which could be a bit overpowered by the chamomile, but also because it’s no longer the season, of course. You can find them in all organic stores, or you can find them online through wholesalers like Koro (in Europe). The advantage is that you can add them just about anywhere: in cottage cheese, yogurt, granola, a fruit salad just before serving —so they don’t go soggy— or to munch on as a snack.
Here we go with this divine infused water of tranquility.
Relaxing infused water
15 slices of dried strawberries
15 chamomile flowers
2 liters (or about 70 fl oz) of filtered water
Optional: A few ice cubes.
Recipe
Infuse the chamomile flowers in a cup of water for 5-7 minutes, covered. Start the pot cold with the flowers, cover, and turn off the heat when the water is simmering.
In a large carafe, place the sliced dried strawberries, the chamomile infusion with its flowers, and add the rest of filtered water. Cover and refrigerate for at least six hours, ideally overnight.
Presentation
Using a fine tea strainer, a coffee filter, or a fine strainer, pour your infused water into your prettiest glasses or a water bottle for the office. Add a few ice cubes for an “aperitif” effect.
Keep refrigerated for 24 hours.
And here’s to this relaxing infused water, which will keep you incredibly zen throughout this wild September. Dish fans will probably ask me where my amazing unicorn glasses come from, lol, they’re Villeroy & Boch from the “like glass” collection. There you have it, you know everything!
See you next Friday!
