Hi Chillers,
I’ve been hearing a lot of noise lately online about LED technology not working for home use. Videos and articles are popping up everywhere, whereas until now, things were pretty quiet on the subject.
This has piqued my curiosity, especially since I’m starting to become quite familiar with this technology. I’ve been using it generally as a face mask two to three times a week for over ten years, as an eye contour pen for six years, and also in a slightly more specific form, which I’ll tell you about today, for just under a year. So, I’ve developed a pretty good understanding of it.
I’m going to share my experience with you because I know all too well that certain issues can cause suffering and discomfort. And if something works, I don’t understand why anyone would want to dismiss it. If, and only if, it works.
LEDs for individuals: fact or fiction?
So, it’s true, LED technology for home use will never be as effective, meaning as impactful, as a machine you’d find, for example, at a dermatologist’s office. For safety reasons and in accordance with the “Darwin Award” principle, potentially dangerous objects shouldn’t end up in just anyone’s hands, that’s obvious.
Does that mean your device won’t have any results? Have we become so binary? If you want to hear me say that the LEDs used in clinics on burn victims are more effective than your at-home LED mask, well, yes, I’ll tell you without hesitation. But I’ll also tell you, without a doubt—and this is the important point—that it’s not as effective as in a clinic or dermatologist’s office, certainly, but you will get results.
For about ten years, I’ve been using face masks; I’m on my third one, a Current Body, and I also have an LED eye mask from Talika. I saw results within a few weeks: less redness, a more even complexion, fewer blemishes, and less dark circles, hollowness, and discoloration around my eyes. I also notice the difference when I stop using them, for example, when I travel or go on vacation.
So, since I saw results on my face, I decided to tackle a real problem that had been bothering me.

A hair problem? I might have a solution.
And so we come to the heart of the matter for this article. And no, the helmet seen in the main photo of this article isn’t for skiing.
Some time ago, I suffered from what’s called post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the major symptom, for me, was hair loss. I’ve always understood that it’s unpleasant for many men when they experience it, but for women, good grief, it’s a whole different ball game. A woman’s hair is her adornment; it’s a symbol of femininity. Having a problem in that area, however minor, can lead to a drop in morale, or even depression.
After trying everything except surgery, since that was a sign that there was no hope left and I wasn’t ready to go through with it, I tried the Nooance “beauty and regrowth” LED mask, which is the cheaper of the two options, but still quite an investment.
I won’t lie, when I placed my order, I had a few sleepless nights thinking that if it worked, I’d finally be able to breathe, but if I had to shell out almost 600 euros for nothing, I’d lose, for the first time in my life, my legendary sense of humor.
When I received it, I followed the instructions to the letter, choosing the small inserts to adjust the helmet to my head size, and I used it religiously every other day, as instructed, for several months. After three months, the thinning area that had dampened my spirits was covered in tiny baby hairs.
As soon as I started seeing results, I had two people I know try it, both of whom also had hair problems. One woman suffers from psoriasis, and the other is a man who is starting to develop a receding hairline and doesn’t like it at all.
Both saw results. After a month, the woman with psoriasis was almost completely clear. She then bought the helmet herself. We’ve been using it for five months now, and her psoriasis is completely gone. The man with the receding hairline developed baby hairs in that area after about four months of use. He then bought the Nooance “anti-hair loss and regrowth” helmet, the more expensive of the two offered on the website, and has been using it with high hopes since Christmas.
I continue to use my hair growth helmet religiously, because the results haven’t been limited to just regrowing one area. It has strengthened my entire head of hair; it’s a bit thicker, healthier, and I also have more hairs per follicle. I know this because my hairdresser confirmed it using a device to examine the scalp, and we did a before-and-after comparison over six months. It was like we weren’t even looking at the same scalp, the results were so impressive.
That’s all for this short article, which I hope will be helpful to many of you who are suffering, or will one day suffer, from hair problems.
All that remains is for me to wish you a good end to the week, a good weekend, and we’ll see you as usual next Thursday for more adventures on the blog.
