Because there is more to Hellenic lands than tzatziki and olive oil.

“It is always in what is more difficult that art and virtue consist; for it is in this that good is truly better.”

Aristotle, Nicomachean Ethics.

Hello, young Padawan

Tzatziki and olive oil, of course, but also black olives, yogurt, feta cheese, and pita bread are all Greek delights that are enjoyed by many. But did you know that the nation of great philosophers also makes cosmetics?

That’s the subject of today’s article. We’re going to discover the Korrès brand and see if Greek women are as good at formulas as they are at cooking and philosophy.

Let’s go.

Korrès, the small Greek brand on the rise.

I discovered Korrès while browsing at Monoprix. I’m taking this opportunity to inform European makeup enthusiasts that the American brand Wet’n’Wild has arrived at Monoprix, but back to Korrès. Minimalist, natural packaging, glass bottles—I’m already interested. There are also several ranges, including serums tailored to various skin concerns. And when you mention serum, I raise both hands!

So I bought a night cream, three serums, a shower gel, and a perfume. Yes, they also make perfumes, facial cleansers, and even a little makeup, but I didn’t find any in this Monoprix.

Face skincare

The first serum I wanted to try was the one from the probiotic range I tested this summer. It’s a Greek yogurt serum that promises to rebalance the microbiome, provide hydration, and reduce blemishes. This little serum did me a world of good, as sunscreen tends to make my skin prone to breakouts and my pores a little more dilated. It helped with both of these issues, so I was delighted. The scent, like all the skincare products, is fresh and elegant, but never overpowering.

The second is the Lift + Sculpt Serum, an anti-aging serum. It’s enriched with black pine extract, like the entire anti-aging range, and promises to firm and radiant skin. It’s hard to notice a change when you take great care of your skin, but I did notice that my skin was more radiant and looked toned.

The third one, I tested with the night cream from the same range, namely the anti-aging serum and cream duo enriched with black pine bud. The serum, with its 6 HA, or six types of hyaluronic acid of different molecular weights, hydration boosters, promises to reduce wrinkles and make the skin more radiant. The cream also promises to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, while bringing plumpness to the face. After three weeks of use, I noticed that my skin was indeed plumper and more radiant upon waking.

Body skincare

The shower gel I tested this summer, with its ginger-lime scent, was a real treat—fresh and invigorating, a classy and refreshing scent. I highly recommend it. I’m also considering trying other fragrances; please don’t hesitate to let me know if you’d like feedback.

As for the fragrance, I chose the Cashmere Kumquat fragrance for summer. Orange blossom, kumquat, vanilla, and jasmine in the top note, followed by cedarwood and cashmere as it matures on the skin. A real treat for a summer fragrance, but I loved it so much that I also plan to wear it in the fall and winter, when I’m craving a little warmth.

So in conclusion, I think you’ve guessed it: it’s an absolute favorite. The value for money, the quality of the products, the sensorial appeal—it’s all there. I enjoyed using these products and would definitely repurchase them.

So, I hope I’ve introduced you to a great little brand, and we’ll see you next Thursday for new adventures.

XO 🌊
