Hi, Chillers,
Headache, sluggish liver, coated tongue—that’s all I need to know, that’s a hangover. A serious one, too.
Never mind, you have to take action if you want this unpleasant feeling to disappear as quickly as possible, just like the stringy blonde wig and Wonderbra that prevented you from getting laid, or the white underwear and the half-bald top of head you completely missed in the gloom of that Caribbean free rum New Year’s Eve. Yes, you have to act, and fast. Let’s save your liver, since we couldn’t save your dignity.
Here we go, and Happy New Year, hunny.

Walnut oil
Yes, it’s carrot soup, but we’re going to add a little walnut oil, which is excellent in this post-hangover period and will help you in many ways.
The linoleic acid it contains structures our cell membranes, strengthens the skin’s barrier function, and helps regulate lipid metabolism.
Finally, its vitamin E and omega-3 content will help with antioxidant and regenerative properties.
Cream of carrot soup with cumin and turmeric.
For two drunks, oops, two people.
18 oz carrots
One vegetable stock cube
2 level tsp of turmeric
2 level tsp of cumin
2 tbsp of liquid cream
2 tsp of organic walnut oil
3 cup of water
Salt, Voatsiperifery pepper from Madagascar
Recipe
Wash, peel, and slice the carrots.
In a large pot or soup maker, pour the water, carrots, broth, turmeric, and cumin.
Season with pepper and cook over high heat until boiling, then reduce heat to medium and cook for 20 minutes.
Check that the carrots are cooked by inserting a knife, then blend until smooth. Adjust the seasoning with salt or pepper if needed.

Presentation
In your prettiest soup bowls, pour a few spoonfuls of this sumptuous velouté. Add a touch of cream and a drizzle of walnut oil. If you have a bit of parsley left in your fridge, planter, or garden, you can add a sprig for garnish; otherwise, it’s lovely just as it is.
I suggest you pair it, for once, with a nice herbal tea to rehydrate after that questionable end to the last evening. You could try fennel seeds, for example.
All that’s left for me to do is wish you a wonderful end to the week or holiday, and a great weekend. And if you’d like more hangover recipes, type “hangover” in the blog’s search bar.
