Hello, young Padawan
Between two heatwaves, infused waters, and poolside martinis—yes, I see you, lol—we’re on a topic I’m passionate about: skin care. In summer, the main issues for all skin types remain hydrating skin that sweats, tends to be shiny, and may also have visible pores or redness, not to mention correcting dark spots (sun, acne, aging, etc.).
The serum is a key part of the skincare ritual. It’s the product that corrects a problem or provides a solution to a skin deficiency. For example, when faced with a lack of hydration, a serum containing hyaluronic acid will provide the key ingredient to hydrate the skin; skin suffering from acne will see improvement with a serum containing zinc, and so on. The cream is simply the barrier that retains water and the active ingredients of the serums in the skin.
So here we go, discovering four absolutely fantastic serums, all without having to put on underwear over your tights—in reference to the Fantastic Four, try to keep up.
The four fantastic serums for a beautiful summer
The first one I want to tell you about is an absolute favorite, but I’m warning you, it’s the same for the other three, lol. This one is full of propolis (60%) and contains niacinamides (2%) to fight inflammation, regulate sebum production, and treat hyperpigmentation while maintaining a high hydration level. It’s the Glow Serum from Beauty of Joseon, a serum I’ve already repurchased twice, and I use it all year round, mainly in the evening, but I sometimes use it morning and night when I feel my skin needs a boost, especially in the summer. In just ten days, the results are long-lasting, reducing inflammation and sebum and increasing hydration.
My second favorite serum for summer is my wrinkle ironer. Yes, just that, lol, it’s the Cactus Magic Serum from Whamisa. This stuff is fantastic. You apply it to your skin, wait three minutes, and your skin is smooth, plump, and radiant—absolute bliss! This hydrating and soothing serum contains prickly pear cactus with anti-aging properties. The only downside is that it forms strings like cheese in pasta, so you have to get the hang of adding a few drops and reapplying the dropper without spilling it everywhere. As for the rest, I’ve already repurchased it because I want to try it in the colder months as well.
The third is the Korres Greek Yogurt Serum. Soothing and hydrating, it contains prebiotics and probiotics to improve the microbiome and overall skin balance. The hyaluronic acid it contains adds hydration, and the vitamin E reduces the appearance of imperfections, softens and protects the skin, while helping to fight free radicals that damage skin cells. I use it morning and night; this is my second bottle.
Fourth, last but not least, is Freshly Cosmetics’ Night Enzyme Peel Serum. Its AHA enzyme technology promises a gentle peel to fade acne scars. Still, it’s also effective on pigmentation spots and classic non-acne scars, provided you apply it religiously every night for at least three months and wear sunscreen during the day. It also tightens skin texture and adds radiance.
So, with these four fantastic products, we have less visible pores, soothed skin despite heat, sweat, sun, sand, sea or pool water, and sunscreen, hydrated, plumped, and bouncy skin, reduced wrinkles, restored radiance—in short, skincare heaven!
All that’s left is to wish you a great weekend. As usual, we’ll see you next Friday for new adventures on the blog.
