Hi Chillers,
I’ve been asked to do this; here it is. Some of you need new candle recommendations. I hope I won’t disappoint you, as I often stick to the same ones, so I don’t have many new scents to recommend. However, the few I’m going to share with you are such favorites, at all price points, that I think they’re really worth it.
And by the way, you know that in the “Decor” sub-tab of the “Parenthèse” tab on the blog, you can find previous articles on the subject, like this one, this one, or even that one, if you want to get a head start and smell like spring, because after all, why should there be any rules?
Let’s get started.

Candles for the cold season.
When it’s cold, I crave the freshness of mandarin peel or pine, as much as I crave the comforting warmth of spices like cinnamon, or the sensual, yet not overpowering, roundness of amber. This winter, I stumbled upon some wonderful finds in these tones.
For a touch of winter freshness, I discovered the “Amber Glow” candle from Søstrene Grene, with its notes of mandarin, pine needles, and amber. Made with rapeseed wax. Pure bliss for just 11 euros.
Another classic I’m mentioning again, since it’s been a while since I’ve talked about it, is the “Feu de Bois” candle from Diptyque. I won’t insult your intelligence by telling you what it smells like; it’s written right on the label. As I was saying, I sometimes light a “Feu de Bois” candle alongside its little sister, “Amber,” creating a sexy, cozy fireplace in the living room.
Moreover, the Amber candle by Diptyque is perfect on its own; its sweetness and comfort are unparalleled for a lovely afternoon of reading.
Finally, you often tell me that you have trouble finding PF Candle’s Spiced Pumpkin. Indeed, it’s a limited edition available only in the fall. So you have to be selective. I’ve found not an exact replica, nor a dupe, but a lovely scent with the same tone, the same poetry, the same harmony that will delight those familiar with PF Candle’s Spice, but also lovers of those warm, unsweetened spiced pumpkin tones, cinnamon, star anise, with a hint of smokiness like in the Spice, but less pronounced. It also has a hint of orange, sweet but not overpowering or cloying. A real treat. This is La Jolie Muse’s Pumpkin Chai.
And so, here are the little wonders of this cold season. I hope I’ve given you some inspiration to elegantly scent your living room.
I wish you a lovely weekend, and I’ll see you next Friday for new adventures.
XO🌲
