The season of winter dinners with friends is launched, it remains for you to know what you’ll serve for dessert. Do not worry, I have what you need: a fruit salad for adults (you’ll discover why by reading the ingredients, ed).

 

Another example to show you that no matter the season, it is always possible to make some very nice fruit salad. The important thing is not the fruits that you put in, but the seasoning. And it is not because it’s fruit, that it is not festive.

 

All you have to do is tune your guitar, repeat your finest jokes and bawdy songs in your head to be ready for this weekend. It’s going to be epic. 🤘🏻

winter fruit salad

For 4 servings

– 1/4 cup of Zante currants
– 1 orange
– 3 clementines
– 1 banana
– 1 ripe pear
– 1 apple
– A few drops of bergamot or lemon
– 1 phalange of fresh turmeric (or 1 Tsp powder if you do not have a juice extractor)
– A handful of hazelnuts or almonds

 

For the marinade:
– 1 tbsp. coffee cinnamon from Madagascar
– 2 Stars of star anise
– 1 vanilla pod of Madagascar
– 3 rounds of Madagascar pepper mill
– 2 cloves
– 1 tbsp. with amber or arranged rum

 

Facultatif : Some speculoos.
The version for everyone, young and old: replace the rum with a tablespoon of water.

 

 

 

RECIPE

Peel and separate clementines into wedges, cut the pear into small cubes, and apples into thin slices. Do not peel apples and pears if they are organic. Arrange everything in a salad bowl, and squeeze a few drops of bergamot or lemon on the fruits. Stir well.

 

Add the currants in the orange juice, rum, spices and let marinate covered for 2 hours minimum.

Roughly crush the hazelnuts or almonds and pour them into the salad bowl.

 

Cut the banana into thin slices, add it to the fruit mixture, pour the marinade of Zante currants, and mix well. Put in the refrigerator for at least one hour, and take out 10 minutes before serving.

 

 

 

PRESENTATION

In your prettiest ramekins or small bowls, have a few spoonfuls of this divine fruit salad, taking care to pour a little juice to everyone, otherwise, there will be jealous.

 

Add some large coarsely broken speculoos chunks for the decoration, and gluttony. For a dirty dessert, it is also possible to add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or soft rum raisins on the fruit. But I didn’t tell you anything.

 

Bonus tip: if there are any left, you can even enjoy it for a snack or at breakfast.
